Welcome to the Mount Shasta Writers Series web site. Our mission is to enhance our community through the literary arts. Mt. Shasta is uniquely positioned to be a regional center for the arts. The mountain itself stands as a unifying symbol. The Writers Series is commited to exploring what it means to live in and know deeply a particular place. In its efforts to promote the literary arts in the local community and beyond, the Writers Series is pursuing three main projects. First is our ongoing effort to bring poets and writers to give readings and workshops in the area (See Series Highlights for a sampling of past events). Please click the Upcoming Events link for more information. Our second project is sponsoring open mic poetry. Open Mic runs from fall through spring. For more information, click on the link. Thank you for your interest in the Mt. Shasta Writers Series. We are an organization staffed by a volunteer board and funded by grants and donations from individuals and local businesses.
